The World Seniors Championship is an invitation tournament on the Snooker Main Tour for seniors.

It was first played in 1991 in Stoke-on-Trent . After almost 20 years, there was a new edition in Bradford in November 2010 . A minimum age of 40 years applied to both events. For the third edition in Peterborough in 2011 , the minimum age has been raised to 45 years. For the sixth edition in Blackpool in 2015 , the minimum age has been reduced to 40 years.

Until 2016 the event was part of the tournament calendar of the Snooker Main Tour . After the hosting contract expired, the 2017 tournament became a purely amateur tournament without professional participation.
