The 2011 World Seniors Championship was a snooker tournament that was held in Peterborough from November 5 to 6, 2011 .

The invitation tournament took place as part of the Main Tour of the 2011/12 snooker season . The tournament, which was held once in 1991 and revived in 2010, saw its third edition in 2011.

Eligibility requirement: the players had to be older than 45 years, which means that the minimum age has been increased by five years compared to the previous year.

12 players took part at the invitation of the WPBSA , most of them ex-world champions or other popular players who have been successful in the past. The four other starting places were played out at a qualification tournament.

The draw was made during the second game day of the 2011 Premier League Snooker by Rolling Stones guitarist Ron Wood and commentator Andy Goldstein .

qualification

The four qualification places were played among 28 participants. The games, which were played in best-of-3 mode, took place on October 10th in Gloucester .
