The World Cup 2011 (also: PTT-EGAT Snooker World Cup ) was a snooker tournament that was held from July 11th to 17th, 2011 in Bangkok . It was an invitation tournament as part of the Main Tour of the 2011/12 snooker season .
In the final, Team China beat Northern Ireland 4-2.
The tournament was last held in 2001 as the Nations Cup . Defending champions Scotland ( Stephen Hendry , John Higgins , Alan McManus ) defeated Ireland ( Ken Doherty , Fergal O'Brien , Michael Judge ) 6-2 in the final.

Twenty national teams , consisting of two players, took part in the tournament. The best eight teams (based on the snooker world rankings) were seeded. Thailand was allowed to provide two teams as the host nation. The teams were drawn into four groups. The two top-ranked teams in the group stage qualified for the quarter-finals.
Group stage
Each game consisted of 5 frames. Every player on the team had to play against every player on the other team in a frame. In addition, a double was played in which all 4 players played a frame together.
The 5 frames were played in the following order:
- Singles: Player 1 versus Player 1
- Singles: Player 2 versus Player 2
- Double
- Singles: Player 1 versus Player 2
- Singles: Player 2 versus Player 1
There was one point for every frame won. If two teams had the same number of points at the end of the group stage, the team that had won the direct duel was rated higher. If three or more teams had the same number of points, progress in the group was determined by a blue ball shootout. If two or more teams in places 3 to 5 had the same number of points, the respective prize money was divided.
Final round
In the final round a best of 7 was played, with a score of 3: 3 the decisive frame being played in a single game.
The 7 frames were played in the following order:
- Singles: Player 1 versus Player 1
- Singles: Player 2 versus Player 2
- Double
- Singles: Player 1 versus Player 2
- Singles: Player 2 versus Player 1
- Double
- Individual: Team captain determines the player
Prize money
- Winner: $ 200,000
- Finalist: $ 100,000
- Semi-finalists: $ 60,000
- Quarter-finalists: $ 30,000
- Third party: $ 15,000
- Group fourth: $ 12,500
- Group of five: $ 7,500
- Highest Group Stage Break: $ 5,000
- Biggest Final Round Break: $ 15,000
- Total: $ 700,000
