In the final, Team China beat Northern Ireland 4-2.

regulate

Twenty national teams , consisting of two players, took part in the tournament. The best eight teams (based on the snooker world rankings) were seeded. Thailand was allowed to provide two teams as the host nation. The teams were drawn into four groups. The two top-ranked teams in the group stage qualified for the quarter-finals.

Group stage
Each game consisted of 5 frames. Every player on the team had to play against every player on the other team in a frame. In addition, a double was played in which all 4 players played a frame together.

The 5 frames were played in the following order:

  1. Singles: Player 1 versus Player 1
  2. Singles: Player 2 versus Player 2
  3. Double
  4. Singles: Player 1 versus Player 2
  5. Singles: Player 2 versus Player 1

There was one point for every frame won. If two teams had the same number of points at the end of the group stage, the team that had won the direct duel was rated higher. If three or more teams had the same number of points, progress in the group was determined by a blue ball shootout. If two or more teams in places 3 to 5 had the same number of points, the respective prize money was divided.

Final round
In the final round a best of 7 was played, with a score of 3: 3 the decisive frame being played in a single game.

The 7 frames were played in the following order:

  1. Singles: Player 1 versus Player 1
  2. Singles: Player 2 versus Player 2
  3. Double
  4. Singles: Player 1 versus Player 2
  5. Singles: Player 2 versus Player 1
  6. Double
  7. Individual: Team captain determines the player
