The Nations Cup 2001 was a snooker tournament that was held from January 13-21, 2001 in Reading . It was an invitation tournament as part of the Main Tour of the 2000/01 snooker season .
It was a national tournament in which each participating country was represented by three players. The frames were played with a changing line-up and sometimes as a double.
The Nations Cup was first held under this name in 1999; However, similar tournaments called the World Cup or World Team Cup go back to 1979. Until the new World Cup in 2011 , the tournament was no longer played.
