Passakorn Suwannawat ( Thai : ภาสกร ส วรรณ ว ฒ น์ , first name: Kon - กร ; * May 1, 1986 in Nakhon Pathom , central Thailand ) is a Thai snooker player .

Career

Passakorn first qualified for the Snooker Main Tour in 2006 . However , things did not go well for him during the 2006/07 season ; he won a total of just six games in the qualifications for the seven ranked tournaments. It went best at the 2007 Snooker World Championship , where he was only just eliminated by Marcus Campbell in the third qualifying round after he had previously defeated Patrick Einsle and David Roe . Nevertheless, he lost the Main Tour place again for the time being.

With his entry into the final at the 2007 IBSF World Snooker Championship, he almost succeeded in direct re-qualification for the Main Tour; in the final, however, he lost to compatriot Atthasit Mahitthi . His return to the professional tour was delayed until 2011, when he got the ticket for the main tour by winning the Asian Championships .

In the 2011/12 season he had some successes. In qualifying for the Shanghai Masters 2011 , he made it into the final qualifying round of the best 48 for the first time in his career, where he failed to Stephen Lee . In addition, he made the highest break of the tournament with 139 at the World Cup 2011 in his home city of Bangkok and at the same time the highest break of his professional career to date. At the Paul Hunter Classic 2011 he reached the quarterfinals after defeating world number one Mark J. Williams and two other top 32 players with Ken Doherty and Gerard Greene .

Passakorn is very overweight and was one of the heaviest players on the tour.
