The 2006/07 snooker season was a series of snooker tournaments that were part of the Main Tour . As in the previous season, the tour consisted of ten tournaments. In addition to the Pot Black Cup and the Masters as invitation tournaments and the Irish Professional Championship as a non-ranking tournament, this season there were seven competitions to win in addition to the title and prize money as well as world ranking points.
The Northern Ireland Trophy , the year before only an invitation tournament, was raised to the rank of a world ranking tournament. The tournament also opened the season on August 13, 2006, which traditionally ended on May 7, 2007 with the World Cup finals.
The total prize money for tournaments on the tour increased by £ 400,000 to a total of £ 3.26 million.
