Issara Kachaiwong (born October 4, 1983 in Chanthaburi ) is a Thai snooker player .

Career

Issara Kachaiwong's first major success was the Thai U20 championship title in 2002. Other successes were the 2004 Thai Games and the 2005 Southeast Asian Games .

In 2006 he won the ACBS Asian Snooker Championship against Mohammed Shehab and thus qualified for the first time for the Snooker Main Tour . In his debut season on the professional tour, he scored at the 2006 Grand Prix , in which he survived the qualifying group phase with four wins from five games. In the next round, he beat Alan McManus and James Wattana , among others , but just missed qualifying for the round of 16 of the tournament. At the end of the season he was in 79th place, which meant that he could not qualify directly for another year on the professional tour, but received a wildcard .

In his second season, his most successful performance was advancing into the qualifying round of the last 64 at the World Snooker Championship in 2008 by beating Tony Drago and Tom Ford . However, he again missed the qualification to remain on the professional tour.

In 2010 he managed to return by winning again at the ACBS Asian Snooker Championship, this time in the final against Mohammed Sajjad . On the main tour, however, he could not prevail again, at the end of the season he finished 87th.
