The 2001/02 snooker season consisted of a series of snooker tournaments that were part of the main tour . 14 titles were awarded this season, in nine tournaments there were points for the world rankings.
The 2001/02 season was the last season with a larger tournament calendar, from mid-August 2001 to May 6, 2002, the date of the World Cup final. In the next two years only five tournaments should be suspended. For the two Asian tournaments, the Thailand Masters and the China Open, it was the last season on the tour for the time being. The China Open should return a few years later. The Champions Cup, which had only been installed two years earlier, opened a snooker season for the last time on August 11, 2001.
