The 2013-14 snooker season was a series of snooker tournaments that were part of the Main Tour .

A first version of the provisional calendar was published by the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) on April 8, 2013.

New to the calendar were the Indian Open in New Delhi , as well as the revived Champion of Champions invitation tournament, which replaced the Premier League snooker . The Players Tour Championship made its first stop in Rotterdam , Doncaster and Mülheim on the Ruhr .

In the ranking tournaments, the flatter qualification mode, which was used in the previous season at the German Masters 2013 and the Welsh Open 2013, became standard from this season. Only at the Australian Goldfields Open 2013 , the Shanghai Masters 2013 and the Snooker World Championship 2014 , due to old contracts, the previous mode still applied, which guaranteed the top 16 of the world rankings a place in the final round.

World ranking

Since the 2010/11 season, the snooker world rankings have been updated after every tournament in which there are ranking points. This becomes the new seeding list for the following tournaments several times during the season - at the so-called cut-off points .

In addition to the 64 best-placed players in the world rankings at the end of the 2012/13 season and the 32 players who had a guaranteed starting place for the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons, 36 others were given a starting place for the 2013/14 and 2014 / 15th
