Ratchayothin Yotharuck ( Thai รัช โยธิน โยธา รักษ์ , RTGS : Ratchayothin Yotharak , first name: Check , เช็ค ; * December 13, 1995 in Nakhon Nayok Province ) is a Thai snooker player . In the mid-2010s he played for two years as a professional on the Main Tour .

Career

Ratchayothin Yotharuck began playing snooker at the age of ten and was one of the many talented snookers from Thailand. From 2011 he took part in the U21 Asian Cup and in the third attempt in April 2013 in India he reached the semi-finals. Since the reigning Asian champion Saleh Mohammed renounced his starting place on the Snooker Main Tour , Ratchayothin moved up and was nominated by the Asian Association for the following two seasons for the professional tour at the age of 17.

His first victory in the 2013/14 season was at the Indian Open 2013 , where he secured participation in the main tournament against the top 16 player Graeme Dott and then with a 4-3 victory over his compatriot James Wattana among the last 32 advanced. He scored two century breaks and three more 50s breaks in the match. At the German Masters 2014 he also qualified for the main tournament against the top 32 player Martin Gould , but was eliminated in the first round in Berlin. Otherwise there were opening defeats in almost all ranking tournaments. At the 6-Red World Championship in his home country, he reached the main round with only 2 wins. Overall, he finished the game year at number 111 in the world rankings . Although he skipped qualification for two non-European tournaments at the beginning of his sophomore year and only survived one round at the Paul Hunter Classic 2014 , he moved up to 86th place in the two-year ranking just by downgrading other players . After that, however, he didn't manage to win a single more and after missing the qualification for the German Masters at the end of 2014, he didn't take part in any tournament in 2015. This ended his professional career after almost a year and a half.

In 2016 he was still eligible for the U21 Asian Cup . He reached the final and only just lost 5-6 against the Chinese Wang Yuchen . He then went to the U21 World Cup in Belgium and at least made it to the last sixteen. His first international tournament outside of Asia after his junior years was the 2018 WSF Championship , a qualifying tournament for the Main Tour. There he made it to the last 32 with four wins in the preliminary round.
