The Kreativ Dental German Masters 2015 was a snooker tournament of the Snooker Main Tour of the 2014/15 season . It was held at the Tempodrom in Berlin from February 4th to 8th, 2015 and was the fifth edition of the tournament in the German capital since 2011.
The defending champion was the Chinese Ding Junhui , who lost his first round game against Welsh Ryan Day .
In the quarterfinals, Judd Trump made his second official maximum break against reigning world champion Mark Selby . It was the 113th maximum in snooker history, the eighth of the 2014/15 season and the first in the main round of a German ranking tournament. Trump then retired 4: 5 in the decision-making frame.
Due to the halved field of only 32 finalists compared to the previous year (2014: 64 finalists), the main arena was played with only five tables, as in 2013. For this reason, the organizers suspended the first session of the first day of the tournament, so that the tournament only began with the second session at 3:00 p.m. The small arena was used by Eurosport UK as a TV studio for live commentary and interviews. Commentators were former Main Tour professional players Neal Foulds and Jimmy White .

Quarter finals
For the first time in the history of the German Masters, all four quarter-finals went over the full game distance of nine frames. Liang Wenbo and Ryan Day faced each other in the first game . The difference was never more than one frame, Day played high breaks of 91, 132 and 85, but the Chinese won the last frame with breaks of 57 and 48 points. In the second duel, world champion Mark Selby and last year's finalist Judd Trump faced each other. After the break, Trump scored his second official maximum break at 1: 3, after the game was marked by high breaks in the previous frames. Selby got a series of 87, 83 and 95 points, Trump played a 94 in frame two. After a contested sixth frame, both continued the offensive game, in the "Decider" Trump had already taken the lead with 31 points when he missed Pink and Selby won the game with a 60 break.
The triple-crown winners Shaun Murphy and Ronnie O'Sullivan met at the TV table . Murphy took a 2-0 lead after breaks of 77 and 59 points when O'Sullivan started an impressive chase and pulled away 4-2. The UK Champion was only one frame away from the semi-finals when Murphy saved himself into the decisive frame for the second time that day of the tournament. Murphy advanced with 33 points, then O'Sullivan took the lead, but missed the early decision due to a position error on red. Murphy took his chance and won with a 34 clearance just 67:65. In the last quarterfinal match, Neil Robertson and Stephen Maguire fought a close head-to-head duel. In the first frame Maguire had already pulled away with 62 points, but Robertson got four foul points and went 1-0 in front with a 51 clearance. In the further course of the game, the Australian always took a frame lead, but could not extend it at any time, as Maguire always managed to equalize immediately. In the last frame, Robertson was just before the finish line with 69 points when he unluckily punched black in a safety on red and snookered himself behind green. After around four hours of play and a strong 34 clearance, however, Maguire was the last player to reach the semi-finals.
Semifinals
In the afternoon, Masters winner Shaun Murphy and Liang Wenbo met . Murphy started strong, played a 141 in the second frame and took a 3-0 lead. Wenbo, who had hardly found his way into the game so far, got his first frame with a 90 break and went into the break with a 1: 3 deficit. Then the Chinese turned up, played a Century of 106 points and used Murphy's hole error to take the lead 4-3. In the last three frames only the English played.
