Lu Chenwei ( Chinese  呂琛瑋 , Pinyin Lǚ Chēnwěi ; born January 16, 1991 ) is a Chinese snooker player .

Career

For the first time in a professional tournament, Lu Chenwei took part in 2010 at the China Open . He got a wild card but lost 5-2 to Robert Milkins in the qualifying round . Two years later he played for the first time in the three Chinese tournaments of the Players Tour Championship, which is open to amateurs . With a win against Alfie Burden he reached the round of 32 at the first event in Zhangjiagang. In the same place he reached the semifinals a year later, where he was defeated by the eventual winner Ju Reti . Before that, he defeated two professional players from his own country, Li Yan and Cao Xinlong . In another tournament of the season he reached the third, again after defeating James Cahill, the second round. In the Asian Tour Order of Merit , the evaluation of the PTC Asian tournaments, he took third place among the amateurs and got the right to start on the Snooker Main Tour as a professional for the following two seasons.

At the first world ranking tournament of the 2014/15 season , the Wuxi Classic , he achieved his first professional win against Dominic Dale from Welsh in the first qualifying round . This brought him to 97th place in the world snooker rankings, his best position so far.
