The BetVictor German Masters 2020 was a snooker tournament of the Snooker Main Tour of the 2019/20 season . From January 29th to February 2nd the professional players competed in the Tempodrom in Berlin . It was the 10th edition of the tournament since it was reissued in 2011.
Defending champion was the Englishman Kyren Wilson , who this year failed in the second qualifying round to Zhao Xintong . The winner of the tournament was the reigning world champion and world number one Judd Trump , who defeated Australian Neil Robertson 9: 6 in the final. The highest break of the tournament with 143 points was scored by Englishman Tom Ford in qualification.
Prize money
There was no change in the prize money (apart from an increase for the highest break) compared to the previous year.
However, the new sponsor BetVictor offered an additional bonus of £ 150,000 for the player who did best in the four tournaments of the "European Series". These four are the European Masters , the German Masters, the Shoot-Out and the Gibraltar Open .

On Wednesday, January 29, the main tournament in Berlin began with the 32 players who had survived the two qualifying rounds at the end of 2019.

qualification
As in previous years, the qualification in Barnsley took place in the Metrodome . After the European Masters , it is the second tournament of the season with two qualifying rounds. From December 20 to 22, 2019, the 32 players who competed in Berlin a month and a half later were selected from the field of professionals.

Century breaks
Main round
33 century breaks were played by 18 players. The highest break was achieved by John Higgins with a 138. The second-placed Australian Neil Robertson played most of the Centurys with six pieces .

A total of 77 century breaks were achieved by 51 players. 143 points in a row, scored by Tom Ford in Round 2, remained the highest break of the tournament and earned the Englishman an extra £ 5,000 .
