The Kaspersky Riga Masters 2019 was a snooker tournament of the Main Tour - 2019/20 season , which was held from July 26th to 28th in the Arena Riga in Latvia . For the sixth time in a row, a tournament for world ranking points took place in the Latvian capital.
The winner was the Chinese Yan Bingtao , who won the final 5: 2 against the Englishman Mark Joyce and thus took his first rankings title.
Due to a canceled flight from London Luton Airport on the eve of the tournament, some players were unable to be there on time. Defending champion Neil Robertson from Australia was also affected by this.
Prize money
There was only a slight change in the prize money compared to the previous year: Those who qualified but were eliminated in the first final round (last 64) received € 2,000 instead of € 1,500. The premium for the highest final break rose from € 2,000 to € 5,000, but the “Rolling 147 Prize” for maximum breaks was dropped .

Final round
The games in the final round were played in best-of-7 mode up to and including the quarter-finals. The semi-finals and finals were decided over a maximum of nine frames.

qualification
The qualifying round was held from 10 to 13 June 2019 at the Ponds Forge International Sports Center in the English city of Sheffield held. Five matches, those of the defending champion Neil Robertson , those of the top seeded Mark Selby and Mark Williams and those of the wildcard players Andres Petrov and Rodion Judin , were only played in Riga at the start of the main tournament. All games were played in best-of-7 mode.
