The International Championship 2019 was a snooker tournament as part of the Snooker Main Tour , which took place in China from August 4th to 11th . For the fifth time in a row it was held in the northeast of the country in Daqing , and overall it was the eighth edition of the tournament.
Mark Allen from Northern Ireland had won the tournament the previous year . He reached the semifinals again, where he lost to Shaun Murphy . Murphy, in turn, lost 3:10 to Judd Trump in the final . The current world champion won the first edition of the International Championship in 2012 . Trump also took first place in the world rankings due to his successful performance .
Prize money
Again this year the prize money was increased, but this time by a moderate € 27,000. Nothing has changed for the top placements, only the losers in the first main round can take away € 750 more than in the previous year. In addition, after the “Rolling 147 Prize” for a maximum break was no longer available, the premium for the highest break was doubled.

qualification
The qualifying round was played from 14 to 17 June 2019 at the Ponds Forge International Sports Center in Sheffield , England , up to eight games . The defending champion Mark Allen , world champion Judd Trump and the two best Chinese players Ding Junhui and Yan Bingtao (Games 1, 12, 26 and 64) played their games in China. Four games with Chinese wildcard players (games 2, 17, 38 and 42) have also been moved to Daqing . All games were played in the best-of-11 mode .

Century breaks
From this season onwards, the bonus for the highest tournament break no longer differentiated between qualification and main tournament. Tom Ford received an additional £ 6,000 for his maximum break in the qualifying round. It was the second 147 break in tournament history. With 12 Century Breaks , tournament winner Judd Trump was the most successful player. There were a total of 105 breaks of 100 or more points at the 2019 International Championship.
Joe Perry made the 300th century break of his career in Round 2 in his win over Stephen Maguire . He reached this mark as the 21st player.
Main round
In Daqing, 30 players played a total of 63 century breaks .

During the qualification, 32 players played a total of 42 Century Breaks . Englishman Tom Ford played the fourth maximum break of his career in his game against Fraser Patrick .
