Jamie O'Neill (born August 19, 1986 ) is an English snooker player . He lives in Wellingborough and trains at the Windmill Snooker Club .

Career

As an amateur, O'Neill won the EBSA Junior European Snooker Championship in 2003 and the English Open Championship in 2006. He was able to qualify for the Snooker Main Tour for the first time for the 2007/08 snooker season by finishing sixth in the Pontin's International Open Series (PIOS) Prize money list ended. A 6-2 final win over Ashley Wright in the sixth of the eight tournaments helped him . In the pros, however, he never got past the last 64 and was therefore unable to stay on the main tour. His highest break as a professional came in qualifying for the China Open with a 119.

For the 2010/11 snooker season he was again able to qualify as sixth of the PIOS. This time, too, he was unable to make it past the round of the last 64 either in a full ranking tournament or in one of the newly introduced PTC tournaments. As a result, he lost his professional status again.

For the 2011/12 season he took part - again as an amateur - in 11 of the 12 PTC tournaments and in qualifying for the 2012 World Snooker Championship . He achieved his best result at PTC Event 10 when he reached the round of 32. He won against professionals Matthew Selt and David Gilbert before he had to admit defeat to Dominic Dale . At the end of the season he was with the group winning the second tournament of the Q School qualify for the third time for the main tour. He received a two-year ticket for the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons .
