Si Jiahui ( Chinese  斯 佳 辉 , Pinyin Sī Jiā Huī ; born July 11, 2002 in Shaoxing ) is a Chinese snooker player . In 2019 he qualified for the professional tour .

Career

Si came to snooker through his father, who liked to play billiards himself. At first he played without guidance, but soon outperformed the players around him. In September 2013 he took part in an amateur tournament in Shanghai for the first time. Over time, he played his way into the national youth elite and was one of the top 16 in the Chinese youth championship. Si made big headlines in the first tournament of the national professional tour in 2016 when he beat the Chinese number one, the world-class player Ding Junhui , 4-2 in the opening match. In the following year he was the youngest player to have reached the final of the 6-Red Championship.

International Si entered his early teens only once in appearance when his 13 years with the Haining Open , one for the main tour belonging PTC attended tournament in Asia, but also eliminated the same. In 2019, he joined the Q School in order to qualify directly for international professional business. Already on his first appearance he caused a stir when he won his first four matches to zero and, among other things , beat ex-professional Jamie Curtis-Barrett right from the start . In the semifinals, however, he lost to later qualifier David Lilley . In the second tournament he gave back a few frames and reached the group final, which he lost after 3-0 lead with 3: 4 against Louis Heathcote . In the third tournament , Alexander Ursenbacher , who had just fallen from the Main Tour, turned out to be too strong. But when he reached the group quarter-finals, he was already the best of the Q School Order of Merit , the overall ranking of the tournament without those directly qualified. In this way, at the age of 16, he qualified at the first attempt for the following two seasons of the professional tour.
