The Dafabet Masters 2020 was an invitation tournament and part of the 2019/20 season of the Snooker Main Tour . The most traditional snooker tournament after the World Cup took place for the 46th time in London . From January 12th to 19th, Alexandra Palace (popularly known as the Ally Pally ) was the venue for the ninth time in a row.
The defending champion was the reigning world champion Judd Trump , who lost to Shaun Murphy 3: 6 in the round of 16 .
Stuart Bingham beat Ali Carter 10: 8 in the final and won the Masters title for the first time.
Prize money
There was a substantial £ 125,000 increase in prize money from last year . An additional £ 50,000 of this went to the winner, with the remaining participants receiving an additional £ 10,000 to £ 2,500. The premium for the highest tournament break also increased by £ 5,000.

Tournament schedule
Except for the world number three Ronnie O'Sullivan , who had canceled his participation, the 16 top players in the world rankings were invited as always . For the Englishman, number 17 was followed by Ali Carter . The tournament opened on Sunday, January 12th with the game Ding Junhui against Joe Perry .
