The 1988 Benson & Hedges Masters was an invitation-only snooker tournament of the 1987/88 season that was held from January 24 to 31, 1988 at the Wembley Conference Center in London . It was the 14th edition of the Masters.

Mike Hallett reached the final in his first Masters participation and beat defending champion Dennis Taylor in the round of 16 . However, Hallett lost the final to Steve Davis 9-0. To date, it is the only final of the Masters that ended with zero. It was also the first final between two Englishmen . Steve Davis won the Masters for the second time.
