The Masters 2009 was a snooker tournament that took place in London from January 11th to 18th, 2009 .
Traditionally, it was played among the first 16 players in the world snooker ranking . Among the lower-placed players there was also a qualifying tournament, the Masters Qualifying Event , which was won by Judd Trump . Ricky Walden also received a wildcard, so that a total of 18 participants were at the start.
In the final there was a clash between last year's winner Mark Selby and multiple world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan , who won the final 10: 8.
