The 1981 Benson & Hedges Masters was an invitation-only snooker tournament of the 1980/81 season that was held from February 2 to 8, 1981 at the Wembley Conference Center in London . It was the seventh edition of the Masters.
In 1981, twelve players took part in the Masters for the first time, instead of ten players as before. In addition, the prize pool has increased from £ 14,000 in the previous year to £ 20,500. The winner received £ 6,000.
As in the previous year, Terry Griffiths and Alex Higgins faced each other in the final . Higgins, who was in the final of the Masters for the fourth time in a row, won 9: 6.
