Beginnings

In the junior division, Craigie won several national titles in the U-14, U-15, U-16 and U-21 division. During the 2009/10 season he tried to qualify for the Snooker Main Tour through the Pontin's International Open Series . Although he reached a semi-final with wins over u. a. Anthony McGill was unable to get one of the eight tour tickets for the following season.

First year as a professional

A year later he was able to qualify for the 2011/12 Main Tour season by winning the IBSF U-21 World Snooker Championship in 2010 (9: 8 in the final against Li Hang ) . In the semifinals he met his brother Stephen, whom he defeated 7: 6.

As an amateur, he also took part in two tournaments of the Players Tour Championship 2010/11 , but failed once in the prequalification of the amateurs and in the first round of the last 128 against professional Adrian Gunnell .

During the PTC series of his first professional season 2011/12, he achieved significantly better results: He made it to the round of 16 at Event 11 with wins over Stephen Lee and Michael White . Reaching the round of the last 48 (at the German Masters 2012 and the China Open 2012 ) was so far the greatest success that he can present in a full ranking tournament .
