EBSA amateur play offs

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The EBSA Amateur Play Offs were a snooker tournament introduced for the 2014/15 season through which European players can qualify for the Snooker Main Tour . They replace the EBSA Qualifying Tour introduced in 2012 . The last edition took place during the 2017/18 season.

mode

The best players in the EBSA Amateur Order of Merit were qualified for the EBSA Amateur Play Offs. This was calculated from the results of the European Pro-Am tournaments on the Snooker Main Tour . Amateur players who were members of the EBSA received 10 points for each match won in qualification and main round. Players who were seeded in a later round received an additional 10 points for the rounds skipped if they won. In 2015 and 2016 there were six tournaments in the European Tour , on the basis of which 16 play-off starting places were awarded. This sub-series was abolished for the 2016/17 season and only the Paul Hunter Classic and the Gibraltar Open remained as qualifying tournaments. Accordingly, the number of starting places was reduced to 8 in 2017.
