The Kaspersky Riga Masters 2017 was a snooker tournament of the Main Tour - 2017/18 season , which was held from June 23rd to 25th in the Arena Riga in Latvia . It was the second edition of the Riga Masters in this format and the fourth tournament in a row in the Latvian capital. The defending champion was Australian Neil Robertson , who already lost in the first round to German Main Tour debutant Lukas Kleckers .

The winner was Ryan Day , who defeated Stephen Maguire 5-2 in the final. For the Welshman it was the first win in a world ranking tournament in the sixth final of his career.

Prize money

Compared to the last Riga Masters, the prize money increased from 200,000 to 227,000 euros, the prize money of 50,000 euros remained the same.

qualification

The qualifying round was from May 31 to June 2, 2017 in the Guildhall in the English city of Preston played. The games of defending champion Neil Robertson (game 27) and those of world champion Mark Selby (game 13) as well as two wildcard matches (game 4 and 12) have been postponed to the start of the main tournament in Riga. All games were played in best-of-7 mode.
