The Coral Snooker Shoot-Out 2018 was a snooker world ranking tournament of the Main Tour of the 2017/18 season , which was held from February 8th to 11th, 2018 at Watford Colosseum. For the second time in a row, the tournament took place in the small town of Watford , which borders Greater London in the south-east . Last year the Scot had won Anthony McGill . He was eliminated in Round 1 against the eventual semi-finalist Mark Davis . His conqueror Graeme Dott reached the final for the second time in a row after the German Masters 2018 , which he lost as before. The winner was the Englishman Michael Georgiou , starting for Cyprus , who won in the game on the colors with the pink ball with 67:56.

particularities

Unlike other tournaments, the snooker shoot-out is played according to special rules . So z. For example, only one frame is played and there is a time limit per shot (15 seconds in the first five minutes of the game, 10 seconds in the second five minutes) and a maximum of 10 minutes for the entire game. The dress code also differs from that of the other tournaments and is more casual.

The first round games were announced on January 4th. In contrast to most snooker tournaments, each round is drawn anew in the snooker shoot-out.

Before the tournament started, Wayne Brown, Kuldesh Johal , Lewis Roberts and Oliver Brown replaced Hossein Vafaei (35), Sam Craigie (68), Aditya Mehta (69) and Matthew Bolton (115) .

* After Mark King was already 47-0 up six minutes after the start of the frame, Tian Pengfei managed to equalize in two and a half minutes with the last Red and Black to 47:47. After that, however, neither player managed to punch the yellow ball in the remaining one and a half minutes. So a decision had to be made in sudden death mode . Mark King started and, after both had missed the first ball, pocketed blue twice each until Mark King missed on his 4th attempt, Tian Pengfei then pitted and won.
