The Ladbrokes World Grand Prix 2018 was a snooker tournament of the Snooker Main Tour for the 2017/18 season . It was played at the Guild Hall in Preston from February 19-25, 2018 . In 2017 the tournament had moved and took place in the north west of England for the second time .

The 32 most successful players in the one-year ranking from the 2017 Riga Masters to the 2018 Snooker Shoot-Out were qualified for the Grand Prix .

Last year's title winner was Englishman Barry Hawkins , but this time he was unable to qualify. The winner was the number one one-year ranking Ronnie O'Sullivan . He won the final against Ding Junhui 10-3.

Prize money

The prize money was increased by £ 75,000 compared to the previous year. This benefited all players up to the quarter-finals, who each got £ 2,500 more if eliminated. The loser in the final received £ 5,000 more, nothing changed for the winner and the two semi-final losers.
