final

Judd Trump had previously won the European Masters and had previously been unbeaten in 14 games in two weeks. Liang Wenbo was in his third ranking tournament final after the Shanghai Masters 2009 and the UK Championship 2015 . The Chinese had the better start and narrowly missed a century break twice, but Trump was able to equalize again. Then Liang pulled away again and went into the session break with a 5-3 lead. In the evening the Englishman set an exclamation point with a 132 break, but Liang increased his lead to 7: 4 with two high breaks. After that, however, Trump came back into play and made the connection. With a score of 7: 6, he took the lead with 41 points in the 14th frame, but instead of equalizing a break of 62 followed by Liang. In the competitive frame that followed, he kept the upper hand and won his first world ranking tournament.
