Itaro Santos (born July 28, 1985 in Recife ) is a German-Brazilian snooker player . In 2008 he was repeatedly German snooker champion.

Career

Santos has competed for Germany since 2004 because his home country Brazil was not yet a member of the IBSF . He is two-time German snooker champion and together with Lasse Münstermann and Sascha Lippe won the European Team Championship 2007 as Team Germany . In 2004/05, Santos played the Challenge Tour , which was a series of professional tournaments. He also played occasionally on the PIOS tour, through which one could qualify for the snooker main tour . As the 109th of the 2008/09 season, he was still a long way from it.

Thanks to a wildcard , Santos was also able to participate in the final tournament of the World Series of Snooker 2008/09 . As third-placed in his group of four, he could not qualify for the next round, but at least won a frame against the multiple vice world champion Jimmy White .

For the 2012/13 season , Santos tried to qualify again for the Main Tour by participating in the tournaments of the Q School . After living in Oberhausen for a long time , he moved to Nottingham .

At the Welsh Open 2016 he lost in the first round to Shaun Murphy with one to four, but played his second century break there.
