The Ladbrokes Players Championship 2017 was a snooker tournament of the 2016/17 snooker season , which took place from 6 to 12 March 2017 in Llandudno in North Wales . After the Players Tour Championship with its final tournament was discontinued, this tournament was added to the Main Tour tournament calendar with a new mode and name as a replacement. The qualification took place through all world ranking tournaments of the season played up to then: The top 16 of the one-year ranking from the Riga Masters 2016 to the Gibraltar Open 2017 were eligible to start.
Prize money
£ 125,000 was the third highest cash prize for the 2017 world ranking tournament winner.

The amount of the premium for a maximum break results from the "Rolling 147 Prize". It starts at £ 5000 and is increased by £ 5000 for the following ranked tournament if no maximum break has been played. The bonus was £ 25,000 because no maximum break was played at the Gibraltar Open 2017.
Tournament schedule
The first round was played on the first three days, with two games taking place in parallel per session. From the quarter-finals onwards there was only one table per session. The two semi-finals were played in the evening sessions on Friday and Saturday.
