The Players Championship is a ranking tournament of the Snooker Main Tour . In 2004, today's Scottish Open was held under this name, but they were not a forerunner of this tournament.

history

In 2011 the Players Tour Championship was established as the main tour ranking tournament and the Players Tour Championship Grand Finals was held at The Helix in Dublin , and in 2012 and 2013 in Galway . In 2014 it was renamed the Players Championship Grand Final . The venue changed over the next three years. 2014 Preston in England , 2015 Bangkok in Thailand and 2016 Manchester in England. In 2017 and 2018 the tournament was held under its current name in Llandudno , Wales , in 2019 it was again in Preston and in 2020 in Southport .
