The European Masters League was a one-time invitation- only snooker league during the 1990/91 season . The tournament was held in June 1991 in different locations. The winner was the Englishman Steve Davis , who took first place on the final table in front of the Thai James Wattana . At the same time he played the highest break and the only century break of the tournament with a 140 break .

Prize money

The tournament was sponsored by The European magazine . There was a total of £ 15,000 in prize money to be won, but this was paid in full to the winner.

Tournament course

A total of four players were invited to the tournament: Steve Davis , who dominated the 1980s and was six-time world champion , his English compatriot Jimmy White , who was vice world champion several times, the Thai player James Wattana and the young Maltese Tony Drago . They all played eight frames against each other in a simple round-robin tournament before the winner was taken from the ranking list calculated at the end.
