The Dubai Duty Free Classic 1990 was a snooker tournament of the 1990/91 season that took place from November 5th to 11th at the Al Nasr Sports Club in Dubai . It was the second edition of the ranking tournament with Dubai Duty Free as sponsor.

In contrast to the first time, this time the entire elite came to Dubai. Defending champion Stephen Hendry came back to the final. There, the new world number one met the old number 1 Steve Davis for the first time after changing at the top in a final match . Hendry won 9-1, the highest result both in tournament history and in personal encounters between the two players, securing the third tournament victory in a row this season.

Main tournament

The top 32 of the world rankings were set for the main tournament. The players from 33rd place played two qualifying rounds, which resulted in a further 32 players who were then drawn into the top 32. In the tournament mode there was a change in the semi-finals: Best of 9 (5 winning frames) was increased to Best of 11. The rounds before and the final remained unchanged (Best of 9 and Best of 17).
