The 1988 Dubai Duty Free Masters was a snooker tournament belonging to the 1988/89 snooker season . It was the first edition of the invitation tournament, which became the first professional tournament in the Gulf States. The tournament was played from September 26th to September 29th at the Al Nasr Stadium in Dubai .

Neal Foulds stepped out of the tournament as the winner, defeating Steve Davis 5: 4 in the final . The highest break was played by Willie Thorne .

Prize money

The tournament sponsor was Dubai Duty Free . The total prize pool was £ 73,000 with no prize money for the highest break.
