The 1988 BCE Canadian Professional Championship was a snooker tournament to determine the national champion of the professionals of Canada as part of the 1988/89 snooker season . The last edition of this tournament was held in September 1988 in the Minkler Auditorium in Toronto . The winner of the tournament was Alain Robidoux , who defeated Jim Wych 8: 4 in the final. The highest break was played by Mario Morra .

Alain Robidoux dominated the beginning of the game and took a 4-0 lead. Jim Wych finally came up to him at 4-1 and 5-2, but Robidoux restored the old gap. Wych was able to win two frames in a row to 6: 4, but Robidoux won the next two frames to win the title.
