The UK Championship 1990 was a snooker tournament that was played from November 16 to December 2, 1990 at the Guild Hall in Preston . For the second time in a row Stephen Hendry and Steve Davis faced each other in the final, but this time Hendry was number one in the world rankings. And again he prevailed against the Englishman. This time he won just under 16:15. After 1983 it was the second time for Davis that he lost the tournament in the decision frame of the final.

Prize money

The prize money this year increased by just £ 10,000 compared to the previous year. The last eight of the tournament in particular benefited from this. From 17th place onwards, the bonuses were even reduced, but for the first time players who were eliminated in the second qualifying round also received a small bonus.
