The UK Championship 1991 was a snooker tournament that was played from November 15 to December 1, 1991 at the Guild Hall in Preston . John Parrott won his only title at the tournament with a 16:13 against Jimmy White . For this it was the second defeat in the second final after 1987.
Prize money
The reform of the professional circus at the beginning of the season also led to a fundamental change in the prize money. Instead of £ 450,000 there was only just under £ 200,000 to be distributed, the top premiums shrunk to a third. However, due to the increased number of participants, the first prizes were awarded from 160th place. Up until two years ago, only the top 64 and last year the last 96 received prize money.
