The 1991 Rothmans Grand Prix was a 1991/92 season snooker tournament held at Reading's Hexagon Theater from October 12-25 , 1991 . The southeast English city has hosted the tournament since the beginning of the tournament in 1984.
Defending champion Stephen Hendry was able to repeat his success from the previous year. The world champion and world number one defeated Steve Davis , who had already won the tournament three times. With the 10: 6 success in the final, Hendry drew level with him.
Final round
64 players competed in the main tournament in Reading . The top 32 of the world rankings were set. The 32 players who had prevailed in the qualification were drawn to them.

qualification
After the opening of the professional tournaments, 496 players had registered for the Grand Prix. For the 464 participants from 33rd place in the world rankings , 7 elimination rounds were held in the late summer of 1991, until 32 players remained for the main tournament. They then hit the top 32 in Reading .
