The 1993 Škoda Grand Prix was a snooker tournament from the 1993/94 season that took place from October 18 to 31, 1993 at the Hexagon Theater in Reading . The tournament was held for the tenth year in a row in the city west of London. However, the sponsor had changed: after nine years with the tobacco company Rothmans , the car manufacturer Škoda came on board.
Already in the round of 16 the last year's final encounter was repeated. Ken Doherty returned the favor to Jimmy White for the 1992 defeat . The Irishman then made it to the final again, but this time he couldn't win either. Peter Ebdon beat Doherty 9-6 and won his first ranked title.
Final round
64 players competed in the main tournament in Reading . The top 32 of the world rankings were set. The 32 players who had prevailed in the qualification were drawn to them. The game mode remained unchanged until the semi-finals, the final was shortened and was not Best of 19 this year , but, like the semi-finals, Best of 17.
