Marcus Campbell (born September 22, 1972 in Dumbarton ) is a Scottish snooker player .

Career

Campbell was in the top 64 of the world snooker rankings for ten seasons in a row . He achieved his greatest success on the Snooker Main Tour in 1998 when he reached the quarter-finals of the Scottish Open . In the same year he sensationally defeated multiple world champion Stephen Hendry 9-0 at the UK Championship , but then retired two rounds later in the round of 16.

On November 8, 2008 he managed a maximum break in the first round of the Bahrain Championship in the game against local wildcard player Ahmed Al-Khusaibi .

On October 24, 2010 he won his first title in a minor world ranking tournament at the 3rd European Players Tour Championship in Rüsselsheim .

At the end of the 2014/15 season he could not stay in the top 64 of the world rankings . He finished 68th, thereby he lost his place on the Main Tour. He was also unable to qualify for the tour again via the two following Q School events ( Event 1 and Event 2 ).
