The 2009 Grand Prix was a snooker tournament on the Snooker Main Tour that was held from October 3rd to 11th at the Kevin Hall in Glasgow . The tournament took place for the second time in Scotland's largest city, after the venue had previously changed repeatedly. It was the last time that the Snooker Grand Prix was held in this form.
Defending champion was the Scot John Higgins . He lost in the semifinals to the Australian Neil Robertson . This then won the tournament for the second time after 2006 . For his final opponent Ding Junhui it was the second final defeat in the third tournament of the season.
Prize money / world ranking points
The prize money remained unchanged compared to the previous year. Since there were only 6 instead of 8 world ranking tournaments this season, more evaluation points were awarded (from +30 for the last 96 to +750 for the winner).
