Björn Haneveer (born September 4, 1976 ) is a former Belgian professional snooker player .
Career
Haneveer was the first internationally successful Belgian snooker player and played for many years on the Snooker Main Tour . The best placement he achieved was 53rd in the 2004/05 season . His greatest successes in professional snooker were taking part in the round of 16 at the Regal Scottish Open 2002 and the European Open 2003 . After he could no longer qualify for the professional tour in 2006, he concentrated on training as a carpenter.
After three years of abstinence, he was able to qualify again for the 2009/10 season of the Main Tour via the Pontin's International Open Series .
Haneever is also a six-time Belgian champion and European champion in 2001. At the 2003 European championships and the 2007 Belgian championships, he even managed a maximum break . He also won gold at the 2001 World Games in Japan and another bronze at the 2005 World Games .
After the Antwerp Open 2011 he announced his retirement from professional sport.
