The 2009/10 snooker season was a series of snooker tournaments that were part of the Main Tour .
In addition to titles and prize money, points were also awarded for the world snooker ranking in six tournaments . There were also two invitation tournaments in which no points are generally awarded.
Compared to the previous season, the number of ranked tournaments was down by two. The Bahrain Championship , which had just been established in the preseason, was canceled again , and the Northern Ireland Trophy also disappeared from the tour calendar after three years of membership in the ranking tournaments.
The season began on June 4, 2009 with the Jiangsu Classic and ended on May 3, 2010 with the World Championship Finals .
