First professional years 1994–1997

For the 1994/95 season Wallace became a professional on the Snooker Main Tour . After two early losses, he reached the round of 32 at the Benson & Hedges Championship after victories over Chris Small and Anthony Davies , where he was eliminated by Rod Lawler . In qualifying for the UK Championship , he reached the fifth round, in which he lost to Stefan Mazrocis . After two more early defeats, he moved into the penultimate qualifying round at the International Open , but he was defeated by the Indian Yasin Merchant . In his second professional season , Wallace reached after an opening defeat again the round of 32 at the Benson & Hedges Championship, where he was eliminated this time by Matthew Stevens . His best result of the season he achieved by moving into the final qualifying round at the Grand Prix , where he was eliminated after victories over Michael Judge and Peter Lines against Mark King . At the UK Championship and at the German Open he reached the fifth qualifying round, in which he lost to David Rippon and Marcus Campbell . In the further course of the season he reached several early defeats at the International Open and the British Open the six qualifying round, in the World Cup qualifying he lost his opening game against Paul Hunter . At the end of the season Wallace was invited to the Malta Masters , where he lost to Martin Dziewialtowski from Scotland after defeating Tony Drago in the round of 16 . Wallace finished the season in world number 194, which he had improved by almost 90 places.

At the start of the 1996/97 season Wallace reached third-last qualifying round at the Asian Classic , where he lost to Anthony Davies . At the Benson & Hedges Championship he reached the round of 32 for the third time in a row, for the second time in a row he lost to Matthew Stevens. After a series of early defeats, he reached the round of 96 at the European Open , in which he was eliminated by Jonathan Birch . At the British Open he was eliminated a round earlier against Sean Storey , at the end of the season he was defeated in the fifth qualifying round for the World Snooker Championship to the Englishman Matthew Couch . Located at number 151 in the world, he lost his professional status after the season.

Amateur year 1997/98

After retiring from the Main Tour, Wallace tried to re-qualify through the WPBSA Qualifying School . But in all four events he was unsuccessful, in the third he reached the round of 64, where he lost to Mark Johnston-Allen . As an amateur he took part again in the Benson & Hedges Championship, where he wins Wayne Jones and Steve James and the move into the round of 16, where he lost to Fergal O'Brien . He also took part in the UK Tour , where he defeated the Englishman Shaun Murphy in the fourth event in the final . In the further course he managed to reach the quarterfinals, but he was eliminated by Leo Fernandez .

Professional years 1998-2006

For the 1998/99 season Wallace turned pro again. In the first tournament - the Grand Prix - he reached the main round, where he was eliminated by Nigel Bond . After a quarter-finals at the Benson & Hedges Championship , he reached the UK Championship again in the main round, where he was eliminated after beating Chris Small against Gary Ponting . At the Irish Open he was eliminated in the penultimate qualifying round to reach a main round at the Welsh Open for the third time in the season. Completely surprisingly, he was able to defeat the 1997 world champion, Ken Doherty , so that he was in the round of 32. There he continued his winning streak with a 5-1 win against Tony Chappel , but in the round of 16 he lost to the Thai James Wattana . After several early defeats, he only reached the fifth round in World Cup qualification . On the world rankings, he placed 84th.

After a miserable start to the 1999/2000 season , he reached the main round at the UK Championship , where he was eliminated directly by Stephen Lee . At the China Open he was eliminated in the penultimate qualifying round, followed by a series of early defeats until the World Cup. In qualifying for the World Cup , he was able to defeat Matthew Street , Gerard Greene and Stuart Pettman , before being defeated by Dominic Dale from Welsh in the final qualifying round . In the world rankings, he climbed to number 59. In July 2000, he won for the second time the Northern Irish snooker championship with a 10: 2 victory over Barry McNamee .

After an early defeat at the first ranking tournament of the 2000/01 season Wallace reached the first main round at the Grand Prix , in which he lost 5-0 to Ken Doherty . After an early elimination from the Benson & Hedges Championship, he lost in the crucial qualifying round for the UK Championship to Dominic Dale. At the China Open he only reached the penultimate qualifying round, he was defeated by the Scots Marcus Campbell . At the Welsh Open he failed in the last qualifying round to Joe Perry , he then qualified for the main round at the Thailand Masters , where he defeated Alan Burnett , Neal Foulds and Billy Snaddon in qualifying . In the first main round he was defeated by Matthew Stevens from Welsh . At the end of the season he achieved what was probably the greatest success of his career: In qualifying for the snooker world championship , he defeated Nick Walker and Simon Bedford , so that he met Joe Perry in the final qualifying round. But Wallace retaliated for the defeat in the same round at the Welsh Open and won 10: 4, so that he was in the finals of the World Cup for the first time. He met the Scot Alan McManus , whom he threw 10: 2 out of the tournament. In the round of 16 he then knocked out Mark King , he won 13: 5. In a purely Northern Irish quarter-finals, he then fought with Joe Swail for a place in the semi-finals. The match continued until the last session, when Swail won 11:13. Swail lost in the semifinals to eventual world champion Ronnie O'Sullivan . In the world rankings, he placed 34th, his highest ranking to date.

At the beginning of the next season Wallace reached the first round at the Scottish Masters , where he was eliminated by Stephen Lee. He reached the final qualifying round at the British Open , the LG Cup and the European Open , but lost every time. After an opening defeat at the UK Championship , he reached the same round at the Welsh Open , but he lost again. In the further course of the season Wallace won not a single game, so that he landed on the world rankings in 36th place.

At the beginning of the next season , Wallace reached the last sixteen of the LG Cup , where he was eliminated by Jimmy Michie . After a series of early defeats, he reached the main round at the Scottish Open with a 5-4 win over John Parrott , where Alan McManus defeated him. He missed the entry into the main round of the Snooker World Championship after a 10-1 win over Martin Gould with a 6:10 against Ali Carter . In the world rankings he fell to 50th place.

The 2003/04 season started for Wallace with a main round participation in the LG Cup , where he was eliminated by Jimmy White . At the British Open and - after two opening defeats - also at the Welsh Open , he reached the last qualifying round. After he was eliminated from the European in the penultimate qualifying round, Wallace reached the Irish Masters again in the main round of a ranking tournament. He lost 4-5 against Quinten Hann . At the end of the season he failed after victories over Paul Wykes and Jonathan Birch in the last qualifying round for the snooker world championship to Chris Small . On the world rankings, he landed at number 39.

Right at the start of the next season Wallace reached the main round of the Grand Prix , but he lost 4-5 to Jimmy White. This was followed by a series of opening defeats that lasted until 2005, only at the Irish Masters he won another game, but he was then defeated in the final qualifying round to the Englishman Barry Pinches . In the last two tournaments of the season, Wallace could not win a game, so he slipped back to 50th place on the world rankings.

In the following season Wallace could only win games in two tournaments, so he fell on the world rankings to 74th place. This place was not enough for a qualification for the next season, so Wallace lost his professional status.

Amateur year 2006/07

In the first half of 2007 Wallace won the Northern Irish Snooker Championship with 10: 5 against Joe Meara , shortly afterwards he was nominated by the Northern Irish Federation for the Main Tour.

Professional years 2007-2011

In the first ranking tournament of the season - the Shanghai Masters - Wallace defeated the Englishman Matthew Selt , but then lost to David Roe . At the Grand Prix he won four out of seven games in the group stage, but he was eliminated anyway. At the Northern Ireland Trophy and the UK Championship he reached the round of 64, where he was eliminated both times. At the Welsh Open , he moved into the second qualifying round, where he lost to Stuart Pettman . After an opening defeat at the China Open , he reached the second qualifying round for the World Snooker Championship , where he was defeated by the Englishman Mark Joyce . On the world rankings, he placed 72, which was not enough for a qualification for the next season. But Wallace got this starting place over the one-year classification, where he finished fifth out of eight places.

After a series of defeats at the beginning of the 2008/09 season , he reached the UK Championship in the second qualifying round, in which he was defeated by Andy Hicks . He also reached that round at the Welsh Open , shortly afterwards he reached the final qualifying round at the China Open , in which he lost to Anthony Hamilton . At the Snooker World Championship he reached the penultimate qualifying round, where he was defeated by Tom Ford . On the world rankings, he dropped one place to 73rd. Again Wallace qualified for the next season via the one-year ranking.

Right at the beginning of the next season , Wallace reached the final qualifying round of the Shanghai Masters , where he was defeated by Matthew Stevens from Welsh . At the Grand Prix he reached the penultimate lap, where he lost to Adrian Gunnell . At the UK Championship , the Welsh Open and the China Open , he reached the second qualifying round, where he was eliminated every time. At the end of the season he lost in the first qualifying round for the World Snooker Championship against Mark Boyle . On the world rankings he climbed to 70th place, but this place was not enough for a qualification for the next season. For the third time in a row he qualified via the one-year ranking for the following season.

The 2010/11 season began for Wallace with several unsuccessful participations in Players Tour Championship events . At the first world ranking tournament, the Shanghai Masters , he reached the second qualifying round, in which he lost to David Morris . At the World Open he also reached the second qualifying round, in which he was eliminated by Joe Jogia . At the fifth event of the PTC he defeated Dave Harold , Daniel Wells , Jamie Cope and Mark Williams , so that he was in the quarterfinals, where he was eliminated from the eventual finalist Jamie Jones . At the UK Championship he fought his way through all four qualifying rounds, but he lost in the first main round to former world champion Shaun Murphy . After three more defeats in the beginning he defeated the Englishmen Del Smith and Rod Lawler in the World Cup qualification before losing to Matthew Selt . It should be his last professional game: In the world rankings, he slipped to 74th place, so that he lost his Main Tour status. Most recently, he qualified for the UK Championship in 2010 after surviving four qualifying rounds. However, this was followed by a first round defeat against former world champion Shaun Murphy .

Career as an amateur from 2011

The following season, Wallace took part in several Players Tour Championship events, but never got past the round of 32. As an amateur, he took part in qualifying for the World Cup, where he won over Joe Delaney and John Parrott . In the first qualifying round he was defeated by the Chinese Yu Delu with 9:10. He also took part in the pre-qualification next year, but this time unsuccessfully.

In 2012 Wallace started a winning streak of enormous proportions at the Northern Irish Snooker Championship . Between 2012 and 2016 he won the competition every time; 2012 10: 4 against Dermot McGlinchey , 2013 10: 4 against Jordan Brown , 2014 10: 4 against Ramie McAllister and in 2015 and 2016 again against Jordan Brown 10: 2 and 10: 8 respectively. With his last win, he caught up with Jack McNally's winning streak between 1938 and 1946. In 2016 he received a wildcard from the Northern Ireland Association for the Northern Ireland Trophy , where he lost directly to Michael Georgiou 2: 4 .

In 2018, Wallace was back in the final of the Northern Irish Snooker Championship after a year of absence, but this time he was defeated by Jordan Brown 5:10. Also in 2018, Wallace received another wildcard for the Northern Ireland Trophy , this time losing to later quarter-finalist Peter Ebdon . In the final of the Senior World Championship 2018 he lost to Aaron Canavan .
