The Northern Ireland Classic 1981 was a snooker tournament belonging to the 1981/82 snooker season . It was held at Ulster Hall in Belfast , Northern Ireland , from November 3rd to 7th . In the final, Jimmy White defeated Steve Davis 11: 9 . The highest break of the tournament was played by Dennis Taylor .

The tournament was the only staging of the tournament. For the 2005/06 snooker season there was another tournament in Northern Ireland.

The final was held on November 6th and 7th. The beginning of the match was very even, neither player gained a clear lead. Jimmy White took a 7-5 lead before Davis won 4 frames in a row, making it 7-9. But White managed the turnaround with a 68:66 and was also able to win four frames in a row and thus secure the tournament victory. Davis was the better in terms of points and breaks.
