The 1980 Pontins Camber Sands was a non-ranking snooker tournament held once during the 1979/80 season . It took place between May 10th and 17th, 1980 in the Pontins Camber Sands Holiday Park of the amusement park company Pontins in Rye , England . In an all-Northern Irish final, Alex Higgins defeated Dennis Taylor 9: 7 . Higgins also played the tournament's highest break with a 111 break.
