The Kronenbräu 1308 Classic (in English mostly Kronenbrau 1308 Classic ) was a professional snooker invitation tournament for the 1979/80 season . It was held in the 30th calendar week in July 1979 in Johannesburg , South Africa . The winner was the Australian Eddie Charlton , who defeated the Welshman Ray Reardon in the final. Data on breaks are not known.

Prize money

The name-giving sponsor of the tournament was the Kronenbräu 1308 beer brand . The tournament prize pool was only £ 1,373 , which was awarded to the winner, Charlton.

Tournament course

The tournament took place a week after Limosin International , which was also held in South Africa and was also won by Charlton. The number of participants in the tournament was only four players, two of whom were South Africans. The semi-finals were played in the best of 11 frames mode and the final in the best of 13 frames mode.
