Tournament course

Four players were invited to the tournament: the young Englishman Ronnie O'Sullivan , local hero James Wattana , ex-world champion John Parrott and the equally young Scottish Alan McManus , who played against each other in the best of 9 frames mode in a simple round-robin tournament . In the end, based on the results, a final table was drawn up, which was led by Ronnie O'Sullivan. Although this and Wattana had both won two games, the Englishman had fewer lost frames. For O'Sullivan it was the first professional title of his career.
