The Highland Masters was a snooker tournament as part of the 1981/82 season . The invitation tournament was held once and took place from April 16-18, 1982 at the Eden Court Theater in Inverness , the capital of the Scottish Highlands .

The idea of ​​the tournament was to have four British players from the top 16 of the world rankings play against four young Scottish professionals. Three of the local players had only come on the professional tour in this one, the fourth, Eddie Sinclair , in the preseason.

Although three of the four games went tight, all Scots were eliminated after round 1. Ray Reardon and John Spencer won in the semifinals and in the final, Reardon prevailed 11: 4.

Prize money

£ 5,000 had been awarded for winning the tournament. Another £ 5,000 was split between the runner-up and the two semi-finalists.
