The Haining Open was a professional snooker tournament that was held in the Chinese city of Haining in 2014 and 2015 as a minor ranking tournament and as part of the Players Tour Championship . The two winners of the editions, the Englishman Stuart Bingham and local hero Ding Junhui , are record winners each with one title, the highest break in tournament history was played by Welshman Ryan Day with his maximum break during the first edition.

The first edition of the tournament was held in mid-October 2014 as the second event of the so-called Asian Tour , the Asian partial tour of the Players Tour Championship , in the Haining Sports Center in Haining . The Players Tour Championship, or PTC for short, was a series of minor ranking tournaments that took place in Europe and Asia and enabled local amateurs to gain experience against professional players through amateur qualification. The tournament was sponsored by China Leather City ; a total of £ 51,000 in prize money was awarded. A total of 131 players, mostly amateurs, took part in the tournament. Of these, the Englishmen Stuart Bingham and Oliver Lines were finally able to prevail; Bingham, who won the 2015 World Snooker Championship a little later , won 4-0. Welshman Ryan Day played the highest break with his maximum break .
Around the same time, the second edition followed in October 2015, this time as the first event of the Asian Tour. The Haining Sports Center was once again the venue for the tournament, but this time there was no sponsor. Nevertheless, this time there was a total of £ 70,000 in prize money to be won, with the winner of the tournament receiving £ 13,500 alone. Of the 148 participants, the Englishman Ricky Walden and the Chinese local hero Ding Junhui reached the final, which Ding won 4: 3. With Tian Pengfei and his 135 break, another Chinese player also played the highest break of the edition. No further editions followed afterwards. However, other editions of the Haining Open with professional participation were played out at the amateur level; In 2019, for example, the Thai Thepchaiya Un-Nooh won the final against Li Hang .
