Igor Almeida Figueiredo (born October 11, 1977 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian snooker player . He now lives in Gloucester, England .
Career
After several national championships Figueiredo was runner-up at the IBSF Amateur World Championship in 2009 , the winner of which receives a ticket for the Snooker Main Tour the following year. Thanks to a wildcard from the WPBSA , he was still allowed to take part in the 2010/11 professional tour . Through consistently solid performances, he made it to cut-off point 1 of the 2010/11 season in 67th place. He achieved the best results when he reached the round of 64 at the 2010 World Open and the 2010 Shanghai Masters .
He managed to stay on the professional tour via the PTC rankings and started the 2011/12 season in 72nd place . At the Welsh Open 2017 he reached the round of 16, where he lost to Stuart Carrington .
In addition to snooker, he occasionally also plays pool at competitive sports level. He qualified for the WPA 10-Ball World Championship in 2008 ; However, eliminated without a win in the preliminary round.
